Los Angeles Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell has been killing it in Drew League

After getting a new contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, Montrezl Harrell has been killing it in the Drew League.

After re-signing with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer, Montrezl Harrell has been showing off his skills in the Drew League.

Don’t know what the Drew League is? Here’s a quick rundown.

The Drew League is a pro-am league that plays in King Drew High School in Los Angeles. The league has been around for over forty years and has had several NBA players stop by and play including the likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Chris Paul. It’s sponsored by Nike and is one of the highest profile pro-am leagues in the country.

If you go during the summer, you’re all but guaranteed to see at least a couple of NBA players. Over the past couple of seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell has been a participant.

One thing is always apparent. Montrezl only knows how to play one way:

Trez looks just as springy as he did this past season where he averaged 11.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17 minutes off of the bench. With the departure of DeAndre Jordan, Harrell will likely have even more minutes to shine.

As mentioned, Montrezl Harrell signed a contract with the Clippers this summer. The contract was a two-year, $12 million deal which is fully guaranteed. The deal, while team friendly, will leave Harrell, 24, as a free agent right as he hits what many deem to be the prime of his career.

He’ll have the opportunity to prove his worth over the next two seasons and if he plays with the same intensity he displayed last year and in the Drew League, he will likely earn a big pay day.
